YANQUERUTA AREQUIPA - CHIVAY - CABANACONDE (CANYON OF COLCA)
The district of Yanque is located in the county of Caylloma, like part of the tourist corridor of the valley of Colca, of this to west and following the riverbanks Colca, Yanque is in the left margin of the River Colca, at a distance of 7.50 km of the city of Chivay.
Located in the oriental slope of Coordillera of Andes from Peru to 3400 msnm with a temperate and appropriate climate with pluvial precipitations among the months of December to March favorable time to admire the natural charms that Yanque shows.

With the conquest of the Spaniards it served as real officials' residence in 1572 where the population is dispersed in hills, gulches, mounts and small villages, then you/he/she was reduced in 24 populated centers where the reference point was the Square of Weapons where was in the front part the Town council, then the Corregidor's House, the Church and the Houses of the main ones, likewise they were divided in two partialities Urinsaya and Anansaya directed by Curacas.
In the republican time Caylloma transforms into county of Arequipa being denominated Kollawa's, years later for ordinance of April of 1866 step 10 to llarse county of Yanque, being designated legally to this District like capital until the day January 13 1920 that I number 6 for regional law moved the capital to the town of Chivay.
Nowadays Yanque has a population of 2500 habiteantes approximately, prevailing the partialities of Anansaya and urinsaya so far as well as the annexes of Chalhuanca, Pulpera, Ampi, Ray and Troca.
Yanque is the only district that has its territory in both riverbanks Colca where they stand out places of tourist singular attraction.
CITADEL DE UYO - UYO
Complex architectural of great transcendency for the district of Yanque. Built in their great entirety of well carved stone it is a citadel that shows compartments dedicated for the use so much ceremonial as of housings with small roads and aqueducts one magnifies distribution of the space in which these residents were developed under the influence Inca Collagua.
